The Scottish Liberal Club exists to promote Liberalism in a variety of ways. In normal times, we hold regular events such as discussion evenings and social gatherings, many of them with speakers, as well as the well-established annual dinner and lecture.
The Club is a separate organisation from the Scottish Liberal Democrats. Members who espouse Liberal ideas and values are welcome from within and outwith the Party.
We have an exciting programme of events planned for the next few months!
Tuesday, 22 October, 7:30pm. The Clubroom, 4 Clifton Terrace, EH12 9DR
David Raw will give us an insider’s view on what it was like to be at the heart of the campaign which brought a resurgence of popularity for the Liberal Party. David is an entertaining, insightful speaker with a great deal of experience in Scottish and UK politics!
Friday 8 November, 7:00 for 7:30. Royal Scots Club, 29-31 Abercromby Place, Edinburgh EH3 6QE.
Beginning with a welcome glass of fizz or a soft drink at 7.00pm in the Club Library, we will then move to the Princess Royal Suite for a set three-course menu, finishing with coffee or tea.
Cost: £55.00 per person. Wine will be available to buy from the RSC’s extensive list. Please reserve your place now with Gregan Crawford, membership secretary: membership [at] scottishliberalclub [dot] org [dot] uk. This is an annual event and not to be missed!
Guest speaker: The Right Honourable Lord Provost of the City of Edinburgh. The Lord Provost, Robert Aldridge, known to us as Dobbie, celebrates 40 years as a City Councillor. This is especially auspicious as the City is also celebrating its 900 years as a Royal Burgh. The Lord Provost’s Consort, Colin Cunningham, will also be in attendance.
Saturday 1 March, 10:0 am - 3:00pm, The Eric Liddell Community Centre, 15 Morningside Road, Edinburgh EH10 4DP
There will be four guest speakers and an opportunity to ask questions and debate current issues. Following our highly successful event last Spring, we are planning a similar event. Save the date!
